Treatment with CEREC Typically Takes an Hour or Less

No Messy Impressions

With CEREC, you skip the impressions altogether, meaning no uncomfortable trays, no slimy impression material, and no jaw pain.

No Follow-Up Appointment

Unlike conventional restorations, CEREC treatment can be completed in a single day. That means no waiting around for your restoration and no annoying second trip to your doctor's office.

No Uncomfortable Temporary Restoration

Instead of struggling with a temporary restoration that doesn't fit comfortably or look the way you want, you can walk out of the office with a comfortable, natural-looking crown or veneer.

Take a look at the CEREC system...

CEREC software

CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. It is an innovative system which uses computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology to design and create restorations in just one visit. Developed by Dentsply Sirona, CEREC creates high-quality, metal-free dental restorations, including crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays.

So what will happen at my appointment?

A Complete Restoration

The design and fabrication process can be completed in under an hour.

in 5 Easy Steps

The design and fabrication process can be completed in under an hour.

Scan

Using a small intraoral camera, your dentist can take precise 3-D images of your smile while avoiding the discomfort of an impression tray.

Design

The scans are transmitted to the CEREC software, which allows your dentist to quickly design a beautiful, natural-looking restoration.

Create

The CEREC software sends the final design to the in-office grinding and milling unit, an extremely precise device which can craft your restoration.

Refine

Your doctor can make chairside adjustments to your restoration to ensure it fits comfortably and looks completely natural.

Place

At the end of your appointment, your doctor will bond the restoration into place, allowing you to walk out of the office with a fully restored smile.

But are restorations made in the lab better?

Will my CEREC restoration look the same as something made in the lab?

Ok, but they must be more expensive...

CEREC Restorations Cost about the Same as Those Made in the Lab

In general, ceramic restorations made in your doctor's office with the CEREC system cost roughly the same as those made at an off-site lab. For example, an all-porcelain crown made in a lab typically costs $800 to $3,000. Costs for CEREC crowns also start at about $800. While the initial cost of your CEREC crown may be higher, you will likely save money on other fees.

The final cost of your restoration will depend on a few factors, including the type of restoration you need and your doctor's experience.

Schedule an Appointment

If you are interested in a CEREC restoration, the first step is to make an appointment with your doctor. They can examine your smile and help to decide if a same-day CEREC restoration is right for you.
