Is fluoride always applied the same way?

Fluoride treatment comes in many forms. If you would prefer to avoid trays and gel, your dentist can use varnish. This is gently painted on the front, back, and top of teeth and will harden in seconds. The entire procedure takes no more than two minutes. Simply leave the varnish on for six hours (you can return to normal activities immediately), and remove it with a toothbrush later in the day.
